Importing Advocates from CSV

Use the bulk invite tool to quickly onboard multiple advocates by uploading a CSV file. This workflow is ideal for inviting large groups of employees or partners at once.

Import Advocates from a CSV File

  1. Go to the Advocates tab and click Invite Advocates.
  2. In the invite pop-up window, click Upload CSV.
  3. Upload a properly formatted CSV file.
  4. Review the imported advocates and click Send to email the invitations.

CSV Input Format

The CSV file must be saved in UTF-8 and include a header row. Columns must follow this order: Name, Email, Role, Topics, followed by any custom Advocate Fields (for example, Region or Department).

Name, Email, Role, and Topics are required columns. The Topics column must appear in the header row but can be left empty for individual rows. Include any fields marked as required in your Advocacy Board settings.

Example:

Name Email Role Topics Region Department
Jane Smith jane@mycompany.com champion Americas R&D

Ensure there are no empty header columns and that each row contains valid data for all required fields. Save the file as .csv (Comma delimited) using a spreadsheet editor such as Excel or Google Sheets.

Advocate fields must appear in the same order as in the fields list in Board Settings. If an existing advocate is included in the bulk import file, any values in the CSV overwrite their current information on the Advocacy Board.
