When you connect your Bluesky profile to Oktopost, you authorize Oktopost to interact with your account through the AT Protocol using OAuth. These permissions enable publishing, analytics, profile display, and native post synchronization.
The authorization descriptions displayed during connection are defined by the AT Protocol and may appear technical or broad. This article explains why Bluesky requests these permissions, how they map to Oktopost features, and how Oktopost uses them.
At a Glance
The AT Protocol defines the authorization scopes. The wording shown during connection is provided by Bluesky and cannot be customized by Oktopost.
Oktopost only performs actions that you initiate. Connecting your Bluesky profile does not allow Oktopost to automatically publish posts or perform other actions without user interaction.
You remain in control. You can disconnect your Bluesky profile from Oktopost or revoke Oktopost's authorization through your Bluesky account settings at any time.
